APUC Charity Activity

2025 - This year APUC colleagues, along with family and friends, are taking part in a range of activities to fundraise for our chosen charity of the year, Avalon. Avalon is a local charity based in Glasgow who support parents and families of autistic children.

APUC hope to raise enough funds throughout the year to allow Avalon to host a Christmas party for families which caters to the different needs of the children. As well as funding a peer support group that will provide practical and tested guidance to parents on specific issues they face.

So far, we have raised funds for:

• In 2020/21 Highlands and Islands Blood Bikes = £1950
• In 2019/20 Guide Dogs for the Blind = £3137
• In 2018/19 Scottish Association for Mental Health = £1658
• In December 2017 Social Bite Sleep out = £3000
• In 2017/18 Alzheimer Scotland = £1180
• In 2016/17 Cancer Research UK = £2414
